Preserve and celebrate the history of the SLU Marching Band and its alumni.
About
A community of musicians, alumni, mentors, and friends united by a shared love for music, service, and lifelong fellowship.
Rooted in the SLU band tradition.
The Musicians Guild of Baguio, Inc. is a legally registered non-stock corporation and alumni-based cultural organization in Baguio City. It traces its roots to former members of the Saint Louis University Laboratory High School Band, the SLU Boys High Band, and has since grown to include alumni of the wider SLU Marching Band tradition.
With a master list of more than 1,200 alumni members spanning from 1953 to the present, the Guild is a bridge between generations: from pioneering musicians of earlier decades, to active alumni, to young student musicians who carry the sound, discipline, and spirit of the band forward.
Why the Guild exists.
Strengthen fellowship among former and current musicians.
Support active student musicians through scholarship, mentoring, and material assistance.
Provide welfare and emergency assistance to members and their families.
Promote music as a tool for civic engagement, youth development, and community service.
Organize reunions, concerts, outreach projects, cultural programs, and fundraising events.
To unite generations of musicians, inspire passion for music and service, and build a community that plays not only for itself, but for others.
To preserve musical heritage, strengthen alumni fellowship, support student musicians, promote cultural excellence, and serve communities through music-driven initiatives, charitable programs, and meaningful partnerships.
Music with meaning.
Music with Memory
We remember those who came before us: the band masters, mentors, senior alumni, and performers who built the foundation of our musical family.
Music with Discipline
We recognize that music is not only talent. It is sacrifice, practice, teamwork, punctuality, humility, and commitment.
Music with Compassion
We believe the true measure of a musician is not only how well one performs, but how deeply one serves.
Music with Continuity
We are not merely preserving the past. We are preparing the next generation.
A legacy of music, brotherhood, and service.

A turning point
At a tribute concert honoring Band Master Macario Fronda, the alumni groups unite as one and embrace the principle that all former band members are family, graduated or not.
Reactivation
During the 70th Founding Anniversary of the SLU Marching Band on May 13 at the SLU Burgos Gym, members unanimously agree to reactivate the Guild and appoint new officers.
Following reactivation, the Guild restored its legal standing through SEC amnesty in June 2023, reactivated its BDO bank account in November 2023, and adopted a new official logo through a December 2023 design contest.
